About me
I am Arjun Kalyan from Chennai, India (22 y/o). I recently pivoted from being a professional chess player to focusing on other interests. I am usually very observant in assessing your strengths and weaknesses. I have a lot of good material on different aspects of the game from my experience as a competitive player. I am known to be a very well prepared player and I am excited to share my opening ideas to interested students! Playing experience
I became an IM in the year 2018 and GM in the year 2021. My current Fide Elo is 2509 and my peak Elo is 2537. I have been playing chess professionally over the past 5 years and have won many events around the world.
Teaching experience
I was part of the medal-winning Indian team at the Chess Olympiad 2022 in Chennai, as an assistant coach. I was also one of the coaches of the team for Asian Games 2022 in China where we won silver.

Teaching methodology
I usually start with analysis of your games to understand your strengths and weaknesses. We can then mutually decide to work on a few specific areas. I have a lot of good material in the opening which I have prepared over the years.
