the variants have not changed. they are always the same.
on the other hand in the new functionalities there are:
- everyone can write blogs
- you can personalize your profile with an emoticon (flair)
- new game modes for puzzles (puzzle storm, puzzle racd, puzzle streak)
- settings for teams have been improved
- the broadcast has been improved and is clearer
- there is now a behavioral etiquette on the forums and blogs
- Lichess insights which allows you to consult your statistics and find games even more precisely

- This forum seems a lot more mature and respectful than 99% of forums.
- I do recognize some users on the forums from 2022, like @DukeDog (consider this a compliment)
One final question: Are "forum games" allowed?
Some examples are counting, and Ban Hammer (you come up with a reason for the person above you to be banned from the forums).
I don't know if those can be considered spam, and I don't want to get warned 5 minutes after returning to Lichess, so are they allowed?
