About me
I’m Egor Lashkin from Moldova, a dedicated chess player since the age of 9. Over the past decade, I’ve achieved significant milestones, including winning the Moldovan Chess Championship in 2023 and 2024. I’ve also competed in the European Team Championship in Montenegro and participated in the U16 Olympiad. With over 10,000 hours invested in mastering the game, chess is my true passion. Having navigated the challenges of chess almost entirely on my own, I deeply understand the hurdles players face and what it takes to improve and succeed.
Playing experience
Over the past five years, I’ve actively participated in numerous events, both in-person and online, playing thousands of games and continuously learning from each one. I’ve competed in Titled Tuesday events, where I’ve achieved notable successes against top players such as MVL, Sarana, Abdussattorov, Grishuk, and Van Forest.
Teaching experience
A few years ago, I began coaching, eager to share the knowledge and insights I gained from playing in numerous events and thousands of games. I believe I have a strong understanding of how to improve at chess and make progress in the game. While chess is easy to explain, it’s challenging to teach effectively. My goal is to make complex concepts accessible and help you navigate your path to becoming a better player.

Best skills
My strengths lie in structured thinking and top-level opening knowledge. I present material in a structured manner, all concepts we learn about anything are based on principles and rules. Scientific approach to chess.
Teaching methodology
I analyse 10-20 recent games to see where problems are. Most coaches talk about weaknesses and strengths, but quite often the majority of players aren't yet that familiar with the game and they have weak spots everywhere.
I believe, it is important to explain how the game of chess works what we aim for , what to work on , in general, and how. My student should be capable of working on his own( I provide the plan), and we negotiate what things he or she wouldn't be able to do; these things we do together. Of course, every player is unique and the education is tailored to the needs of a student.
Next I will list some common strategies I use during my lessons.
1)Game Analysis and Deep Reflection, we learn to think and make decisions based on a rule or some idea.
2)Playing against somebody online to discuss together critical moments.
3)Checking games of players who are of the same strenth as a student to see common mistakes. Deep reflection and conclusions.
4)Self-Improvement Plan: a personalized plan for progress outside of lessons. A student will know what to do outside of a lesson.
5)Clear Principles and Ideas: Be it either converting the advantage, defending a position, finding a plan, evaluating a position or calculating something - we should be prepared in advance what to do when it happens and what strategies we are going to employ to make good decisions.
6)Variety of Exercises: I prepare exercises before the lesson on a particular topic to understand some principles better and enhance student's knowledge in areas he needs.
7)Top level opening files - I am the best theoretician in my country. My hobby is analysing different openings as top players do. I can help build up a good opening repertoire and prepare for a tournament.
8)Communication and Feedback: I provide swift feedback between lessons. I keep in touch with my students and I answer their questions.
9)Home Practice Positions: I send some interesting positions from which my student can learn something. It could be the topic he needs or just something interesting I found that could be helpful.
10) Training games We can play training games between lessons. Analysis of those games could be student's hometask.
