WFM Lorita Mwango

I am a 25 year old Zambian female,currently residing in south Africa. I am a qualified high school teacher of Mathematics and attained my Degree in 2016 from the copperbelt university in kitwe,Zambia. I am a WIM elect, working to get my fide rating to 2000 so that my WIM title can start showing as it is a conditional title.

I have been a professional chess player for about 10 years now.I am currently the highest fide rated female in Zambia. I first qualified into the national team in 2010 and represented my country to a national team friendly between Botswana team and the Zambian National team,this was in fact my first international tournament .From that one, I went on to also play for the Zambia Junior team in Botswana in the Africa youth chess championships.. I have gone on to represent my country in 4 Olympiads;Russia,Turkey,Norway and Azerbaijan.I have also played a number of other tournaments,Africa youths, Zonals,Africa individuals and alot of local tournaments with good performance .I have gotten a chance to play in the commonwealth games in India,and recently got a silver medal at the All Africa games in Morocco. I have also attained a conditional WIM title after coming out 2nd at the 2017 africa individual in Livingstone,Zambia that will only show when my fide rating gets to 2000. Apart from that,I have been a national sportswoman of the year nominee twice,2018 and 2019 and hopeful that indeed I will one day scoop that award. These are among the great achievements I have in this great game of Chess.

I taught maths to over 89 boys for 3 months and gained a good amount of teaching experience in that period of time.I have been working as a coach for goforchess academy here in southAfrica from the beginning of the this year.I believe I am well equipped and can help you reach your goals as a chess player

Other experiences include coaching a school team for there interschool chess competitions that so the senior team come 2nd and the junior team come first in there respective categories.

I believe the best skill in teaching is good communication, it's the coach getting the message across to the student in a simple and precise way,a way that's easy to understand and apply. It's the coach/teacher being able to listen to the learning needs of there student.

The lessons are prepared according to the students needs,thereafter the lessons are done on zoom and using various other platforms like Lichess,the lesson is carried out.homework is sometimes given at the end of the lesson.I then need that homework submitted and it is then discussed in the next lesson as a follow up
