IM Prantik Roy

Greetings! This is International Master Prantik Roy.
I am a Professional Chess Player and a Chess Coach from Kolkata, India.
It would be of immense pleasure for me to be able to assist serious Chess players as well as Chess enthusiasts to improve their game.

I have played Chess professionally for more than two decades.
Earned my IM title at Qatar Masters in 2015. (Received my title officially at the FIDE Presidential Board Meeting in March 2016).
I won the National Blitz Championship in 2016.
Earned my maiden GM norm at the Xtracon Open in Denmark in 2018.
I have won a few State Championships and a lot of other classical and rapid tournaments as well.

My teaching journey began a few years before I earned my IM title.
Initially I had some tight tournament schedule and therefore was quite infrequent with teaching.
As of now, I am a full time coach.
I have nurtured quite some promising talents from my state of West Bengal and beyond.
The most significant among them till date have been GM Koustav Chatterjee and IM Aronyak Ghosh.
My students have also been champions in Asian, National and State events.
A lot of my other students have been regular achievers as well.

I have been fortunate enough to teach at Chess institutions in India and in the US.
Would very much like to explore more such opportunities in the future.

I will first and foremost try to share my passion for the game with the people I work with.
