For some reason the higher rating I get doing puzzles the lower the score becomes, for example I just completed a puzzle in another tab and the score for 1616 was only a +9. It didn't used to be this way. What is going on?
Puzzle ratings work just like other ratings. So the change in rating depends on the difference of the ratings (you vs the puzzle), and the rating deviation.
9 points for a puzzle roughly your rating seems perfectly fine.
Indeed. So the smaller increase is not because you get a higher rating, but because you solved more puzzles recently.
